Worries about speed at receiver next year.
I think, depending on what they do with the interior OL, it could be better than previous years? Depending on how things shape out, you've got some massive dudes on the interior. COuld be Umeozulu, Hutson and Campbell or even throw in Kibble if he continues progressing like we keep hearing. That will be a great spot to watch this off-season and especially Spring. Potential attrition there, too. Also gotta see what they do with the Notre Dame guy they offered. As you said about WR, not worried about speed. I think the guys we have are very talented and will be really good this coming season. Very competitive time during Winter workouts and Spring ball coming up there.

Worries about speed at receiver next year.
I don't deny his speed, I've seen his tape. The guy can flat out run. Hope he gets a shot, because he's a potential stud if he can get it together. I agree about Arch, Moore and Wingo. I'm sure he'll continue to build that rapport with the other guys and the TE's over the off season. I think a guy like Washington at TE, can be another great weapon for him. Same for Niblett (who has great speed). We'll see what they decide to do the Spring portal, if there is a more experienced WR they want to grab or if they're happy with what they've got. Same for TE. I'm personally hoping that Shannon steps up, too. A guy his size, would be a mis match nightmare in the red zone. Similar to Helm (though I think he was underutilized in the red zone).

Where members of the No. 1 Texas signing landed in the final 2025 rankings from 247Sports and ESPN
Can I still be a little bit salty about Fasusi and Moore? Lol. Either way, our staff did an amazing job and this class is beyond amazing. So much talent. The current staff under Sark knows how to evaluate and develop. Though they completely lost that '22 D recruiting class with most of them not even being at Texas anymore.

BOOM!: Hero Kanu commits to Texas
If we had grabbed him, then got Kanu, we'd be 100% set for the season. Especially you add in January who is expected to be a bigger contributor this year and we hope Hills can take that leap, like Baker wants him to. Then you add in the very talented 3 Fr? The room is looking great under Baker, considering it was left pretty bare for him and then we lost a lot of attrition in the portal.

Notre Dame hiring Chris Ash as defensive coordinator
Chris Ash is a great DC (imo), was a bit disappointed we didn't keep him when Sark was hired, just for continuity sake and to help transition Sark to Texas. But I loved the PK hire., just wish he hadn't hired most of the defensive staff without PK first, but that's in the past.

They're going to use him as both. He'll be that speed guy they utilize, similar to K-Rob, Bolden or even Blue, if you will. He'll be a weapon for Arch.

Worries about speed at receiver next year.
I remember watching Livingstone's hudl tape and being very impressed. Not sure how much he has progressed since getting to Texas, but he'll have a chance to showcase himself this Spring and during Winter workouts. Same with Butler and Deboise. Guys like Ffrench, Lockett and McHutchinson are talented Fr, they'll push for a spot, too. Lots of talent, just not much experience outside of Moore and Wingo. Personally think Wingo is about have a crazy year.

Worries about speed at receiver next year.
I'm not that concerned. The guys we have are great. Just need to keep recruiting at a high level there. Would be nice to have a transfer guy, but we either didn't land or go after any of the guys jumping in. I think with Moore, Wingo and whoever out of - Livingstone, Butler, Deboise and the incoming Fr can get it done. Plus you'll have Niblett who has legit speed as a guy you can use all over. Washington at TE is also a guy to watch, very athletic and will be a great TE for us (imo). Understand the concern from people, but I think we'll be fine.

Hoops: Texas vs. Chris Beard Game Thread
Sucks to lose the game, but man they put in a great effort on the road against a really well coached team, who is ranked. Seemed more like we hurt ourselves than Ole Miss just straight up beating us, if that makes sense? We had plenty of chances to take this game over and just bricked every time. Anyway, great effort from the boys.

LOL, I love beating A&M in anything. They're going to be pissed off big time. Great win for the boys and staff.

Brian who?
There is a lot of QB's that get overpaid in the league. Trevor Lawrence for example. None of them will do what Brady did and take a pay cut to add talent around or at least free cap room to keep talent. I know people love to hate on Brady, but it was just an example. I'm not a Cowboys fan, so it doesn't him home as much for me (Packers fan). I think Dak is an above average QB being paid like he's a top tier QB. But he's hardly the only problem, it all stems from Jerry Jones. Guy is one hell of a business man but he can't run a football team for sh*t, lol. Unfortunately, until it hits him in his wallet, he doesn't give a sh*t and why should he? He's making a boat load of money every year.

Carnell Tate Rumors
So it's okay when other teams tamper with our roster, but not okay when we reciprocate? Lol. I honestly doubt there was any tampering, probably his "agent" trying to bump up his NIL from Ohio State.

OG Roll Call
Same, got mine, too.

Thrilled to be here! | Importance of the third-year Longhorns (Wednesday, 1 p.m.)
Our boy, Jeff Howe! What a f*cking legend. The OTF crew continues to get stronger and stronger, truly the best in the game.

A solid win for the boys and Coach Terry. Was a bit butt clenching at the end, but I'll take a win, lol.

Coffee and Football: Tuesday 01/21
I think PK needs to stop taking his foot off teams. He tends to play soft after a while, instead of staying on top of them. I have dubbed it the "killer instinct", Sark seems to lack it, too. I'm not trying to say this in a negative way, it's just the way their styles come off. As for Sark offensively, he needs to be more consistent in his playcalls, less cute stuff and work on red zone O. Just my uneducated two cents. All Gas No Brakes, embody that philosophy.

National Championship Game
I think Gerry's comment on the live stream, about how if he had lost to Tenn in the 1st round he would've likely been fired is pretty accurate. That noise after the Michigan game, seemed to light a fire under Day but also the entire Ohio State team/staff. Much different team we'll see in Ohio to start our 2025 campaign, but we're also not sure if the Day to the NFL rumours are going to get stronger now. Will he capitalize on it now or stick it out at Ohio State? If he does leave, there is some good options for them to go get (Freeman and Hartline to start with).

Jeff Howe to OTF?
You are one of the posters I recognize with some crossover from there, always enjoyed reading your posts.

Top SEC QBs in 2025
I'm curious to see who OU gets for Mateer to pass to, because I haven't seen any news about their portal acquisitions, but that could just be me. Aren't they going air raid now? New OC, new QB, OL still trash, skill positions with a big ?, D should still be good for them, but how good?

Pleased with our player retention
That is because there hasn't been a ton of coaching change at good programs.

Jeff Howe to OTF?
I've been following on 247sports (not a member) for a while, I think since Tom Herman was hired, but mad an account in 2021. They've lost a lot of really good members over the years. The guys there now are really good still, but it's a noticeable drop in quality/talent, in such a short period of time. If Jeff wanted to be on OTF, he'd be a welcome addition to the team and even the live streams.

Hoops: Texas at No. 5 Florida Game Thread
But how can we expect him to be good here, if we're not willing to help him with NIL initiatives and be competitive in the market? It seems like overall our NIL game might be lacking a bit across the board. I understand the sentiment is that he isn't a great HC but we also need to give him the tools to succeed, no? When Coach Sark was hired as the Football HC, a lot of people were disappointed because of his poor HC record and his first year at Texas didn't quell any of that. Yet 3 years later, we've dominated recruiting, been to two straight semi-final's and are trending up as a program. Now, I'm just a new fan to Basketball, so maybe I don't understand all the in's and out's, like I do more so for Football, but that's just my uneducated take.

Hoops: Texas at No. 5 Florida Game Thread
I didn't know that about the NIL Thought with how everyone talks about Texas, our NIL funds would be fine. I get what you mean, sounds like Texas as a whole needs to step it's game up a bit.

Hoops: Texas at No. 5 Florida Game Thread
Do you think, similar to Baseball, that the right hire for Basketball, could see the NIL/support increase? I know Texas is a Blue Blood in Baseball, but it could help, no? Not advocating for Coach Terry to be fired, but just in a hypothetical instance.

Hoops: Texas at No. 5 Florida Game Thread
Man, they started it off so well, then we came crashing back to reality and it completely fell apart. Tough game. On the road, against the #5 team? Brutal man. We got bullied physically for most of the game and I was a bit surprised by that. Offensively, we started hot but was pretty lacklustre the rest of the way. Not sure what more Coach Terry can do? Would love to read some thoughts from the more knowledgeable Basketball posters. Is there anything Coach can do to turn this season around?
