Pendergass comes through with an RBI sacrifice fly, scoring Ashton Larson to make it 6-4. Texas has the tying run at the plate and a runner on first with one out.

Texas trails Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 6-3 in the bottom of the fourth. Josh Livingston's RBI single made it a three-run game. The Longhorns scored in the first inning on an Anthony Pack sacrifice fly and in the third on a Carson Tinney solo home run.

Tinney was hit by a pitch, making it first and third with no outs for Robbins.

Mendoza drew a leadoff, four-pitch walk, stole second on a poor throw from the catcher and reached third on an error.

A five-hit, five-run inning for the Islanders finally comes to an end. Texas will bat for the first time, facing a five-run deficit.

An RBI single through the right side makes it 5-0.

The runners Winter was responsible for have scored. Everything from here on out will be charged to Grubbs.

Grubbs has to keep the ball down. That didn't happen on the two-run single.

As is the case with the Tuesday game this season, I'll be on the livestream starting at 7 p.m., so I won't be providing my usual commentary. Regardless, Texas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are underway, and it's not a good start for the Longhorns. Michael Winter got the start and allowed two singles, walked a batter and gave up an RBI single. The Islanders have a 1-0 lead with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the first.

I love learning about this history of the program. I’ve done my fair share of studying over the years, but that’s a process that never stops. My Mount Rushmore of Texas defensive coordinators would be Campbell, Fuller, Muschamp and I’d flip a coin between David McWilliams and Greg Robinson for the fourth spot.

Eh, we’ve all got our gimmicks and quirks. I’ll see what I can do though.
