  1. BOOM! A-Rod gets Texas on the board for the first time since Borba's homer with a leadoff solo shot to center.
  2. Walls only allows an infield single in the ninth. Texas goes to the bottom of the ninth, looking to rally from a 6-run deficit.
  3. That's 14 runners left on base today. Texas is 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Gross.
  4. And for the third inning in a row, Texas leaves the bases loaded. Pack flies out to left, ending the inning.
  5. For the third inning in a row, Texas has the bases loaded with two outs.
  6. Two on with two outs after Monsour draws and new pitcher Maddox Webb walks Robbins.
  7. "... in a general sense." Awesome!
  8. Here's what was written about the Longhorns coming in at No. 3 in the post-spring top 25: "The Longhorns drop slightly but that’s not an indication of their potential for the upcoming season. The offseason foot surgery for Arch Manning appears to be of little concern other than keeping him from working more closely with a potentially elite receiving group that includes Ryan Wingo and Auburn transfer Cam Coleman among the standouts. Of bigger concern is how the offensive line develops after a sub-par season in 2025. New coordinator Will Muschamp had the spring to start implementing his defensive plan that will take advantage of Colin Simmons, who projects to be among the best pass rushers in the nation."
  9. These are the first rankings I've seen released since the Sorsby situation came to light. Texas is No. 3, behind No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Notre Dame:
  10. A wild pitch, an RBI groundout and a double make it 7-1 State over the Longhorns.
  11. And that's it for Flores. Brody Walls is coming into the game.
  12. Jason Flores is on the mound for the eighth. He walked the first batter he faced and allowed a one-out single.
  13. He's got a chance to be the most elite contested catch receiver Texas has had in the PFF era. Collin Johnson and Lil'Jordan Humphrey were great, but Coleman has more upside than either of those guys ever had (with all due respect).
  14. Quick review and Mendoza is ruled out. Texas leaves the bases loaded for the second inning in a row.
  15. We're getting a challenge of the inning-ending fielder's choice at second base.
  16. I love his fit in Sark's zone running game because of his patience and ability to explode up the field once he lets things unfold in front of him:
  17. This radio interview is the first time I can remember Sark acknowledging that Arch played the whole season with the foot issue. They didn't want to get it fixed before or during the season, so they waited until January.
