Lance Jackson Update (Feb. 8, 1:17pm)
If his brother was a 5-star, this kid should 100% a 5-star as well. In 2026, the Texas defense will feature him as a sophomore and Collins as a junior. Good luck to the rest of the SEC.

Texas Basketball Discussion
Hunter and Mitchell were the worst decisions Terry made. Those guys just suck possessions away from the offense.

Just as long as you are ok with your star player raping a teammate's underage sister.

Another Ruling in Favor of Athletes
Yeah, players are stupid because they are going to be hit with a large tax bill. Ivies don't have athletic scholarships, so it affects them less.

If only he could be a 38+ BTA shooter to help punish teams for doubling Abmas. Though the pick and pop with Disu works as well. It's crazy that Horton is such a bad play right now because he's still a legit 3 point threat at 38.2% on the season.

Texas Basketball Discussion
Sampson is a great coach, but he still hasn't figured this out. I think he spends to much time on defense and defensive rotations that he forgets that you need to score points. The fact he routinely has a horrible team FT shooting percentage really does boggle the mind.

Saturday: A New World Order
Heather Dinich made a good point this morning about the SEC and B1G commissioners meeting. She said it that the commissioners don't really have the appetite to move away from the NCAA on a lot of key issues because of the amount of litigation currently facing the NCAA. They like the fact that there is that buffer, and even if the SEC and B1G broke away to start a new football only division, the litigation would follow.

I mean there is no easy stretch in the Big 12. This team could easily be 7-2 or 2-7. The only game they had no chance of winning was Tech at home. Terry finally figured out that Weaver needed to play more than Cunningham and that decision came 2 conference losses to late. Now the next person to see his PT limited is going to have to be Hunter. He just kills the team with silly TOs. We switch Hunter with Love and this team is likely a Top 10 team in the country and no worse than 3 losses in conference play. Iowa State is a must win game because they are 1-3 at home in the Big 12. 4-5 in conference but have the most conference road wins as well. I hoping for 5-0 at home and steal a road game to get to 10-8. That should get them to the 6 seed line easily. Win a couple more in the conference tournament move up even further. Every game in the Big 12 tournament might be Quad 1.

Friday - What’s Next With Personnel Department
I imagine that they would deal with a lot of the AD stuff and be in charge of both HS and college scouting to see if players could fit into the systems on offense and defense. That way the coaching staff has a narrowed list of 100 or so prospects instead of over 1000. He probably also fosters the relationships between Sarkisian and the HS coaches, compliance, and NIL. There are lots of things he can be in charge of.

How long will arch be here
Eli and Peyton both played through their college eligibility. Wouldn't be surprised if Arch did the same. Though that could change if NO ends up with a high pick in the 2027 draft.

Christian Jones Having a Strong Day at Senior Bowl
Jones is going to have a 10+ year career playing inside. He's going to be a very athletic guard.

Early Prediction: Texas Leading WR in 2024?
Yep, him being in the slot. He's going to get a lot of targets in the screen game. Bond, Cook, and Golden will be more dependent on Ewers taking that final step and hitting the deep ball. I hope we see a lot of 10 personnel to keep everyone happy. Really a 25/25/25/25 split between 21, 12, 11, and 10 personnel. We have the players to pull it off. OL and Ewers hold the key to make sure all those guys get fed by running into the 80s plays a game on offense. last year we were at 71.5, so an increase of 8 or 9 shouldn't be a problem with elite OL play, and a quicker decision making from Ewers in his progressions.

Of who's list? Certainly not On3 if Texas gets him.

On3 last ranking, showing no love to Texas.
The rankings will always be a joke until they stop trying to rank towards the NFL and focus on the college game.

With Texans out how long until we hear about R.Wright
I hope it is announced soon. Alex Foster is still needed in the 2024 class, and maybe take one more run at McKinley.
