  1. It’s both. Two things can be true at the same time. Actually, many things can be true. He plays really well at times, and then…..he doesn’t. Like I said in another post, he is high risk, high reward. The only stat that matters at the end of the game is the scoreboard. He doesn’t suck, and he’s not amazing. He is high risk, high reward. He didn’t play well enough against Georgia to win. You have to score touchdowns. You also have to make field goals, not commit penalties, and sniff out trick plays on 4th down. All these things are true. Some of the games this year he had horrific mistakes that the defense and guys thrown 5 yard passes in space bailed us out and got us the win. In those games, the only thing that mattered was the score at the end. Quinn gets credit now for those wins even if he didn’t play the best. And although he had an amazing 1st quarter this go around, he still gets credit for losing because we lost. Hope we win from mow on. If he plays well we can. If he doesn’t against an Oregon or Notre Dame we won’t overcome it.
  2. If Arch was better in practice he would not be given the start. Quinn came back, Sark is not just going to bench him at the end of the season, even if Arch is better. Maybe if he was “Way”. better, but there is no way that you supplant a 3 year QB with the backup at the end of the season without a reason (injury). Quinn gets us through this year as long as he is healthy. He is a high risk high reward QB. He can throw it on a dime at times. He has an inconsistent long ball. He has some of the worst perception of the pocket and pressure I’ve seen in a while. Those are specifics. Generalizations like he sucks, or he’s amazing are useless. If he plays well and scores 20+ points we probably win against anyone with what’s around him. If he takes sacks, fumbles in our territory, or throws costly interception we still can overcome it with a mid tier team, but we lose against good teams. This is the way. We got what we got. Lets hope we get the good Quinn that scores in stretches of the game for the next four games. I think we will, these teams aren’t Georgia. And let’s stop the penalties. Side note, but wow! They killed us. Control what we can control.
  3. We will see if TV sets and money play a part in the decisions pretty quick. SMU draws Dallas and Texas market, but not the national viewership Alabama does. Again, I don’t care, my pony is Texas, but what should happen and what might happen could be different.
  4. I agree with this caveat, Texas beats SC. Full disclosure of bias, I still have cool aid left and I’m a homer, but we are good against running QBs when we prepare for them, and though they have a pass rush, it’s not complemented with the linebackers Georgia has. Don’t get me wrong, their linebackers are good, but not elite with the instincts and speed of Georgia. Think we could score.
  5. I totally agree, but Alabama being in the previous ranking and being idle, not sure South Carolina (playing better and trending up) will jump them. Best to just have a deserving SMU there at 11/12. But what should be done and is done might be 2 different things. And this 12 team playoff was suppose to remedy controversy.
  6. I think they might put 3 loss Alabama in over SMU
  7. With a fight at the end, and both teams get pepper sprayed by police.
  8. Our Oline is tired of hearing it, and dominates their defensive line all day!
  9. Ok, correction, derp a derp run for 12.5 yards, we’ll give him a break.
  10. Can we require Quinn to have a 25 yard herp a derp run like Case McCoy had in the last game against A&M?
  11. It really doesn’t matter what I think, but here it is anyway. Texas A&M is going to come out so amped at home, that if we fake screens and misdirect the run (which we’ve done, but not to open games), we can take advantage early of a defense that will over pursue and get some quick scores. Then we make them play from behind with a freshman QB that’s first talent isn’t to pass his way back into a game.
  12. Could have run off alot more time me thinks
  13. He’s a longhorn of course we need him. Let’s stop kicking lifetime longhorns off the team. He’s super fast and a talent. He just needs to get better.
  14. We are going to intercept this guy. Watch
  15. We should have gotten a punter in the portal like Bobby said.
  16. Quinn has looked much better today. He’s improved on pocket presence. And no, don’t feel stupid for criticism in games where he played like crap. I’ll give credit where credit is due, and call out unacceptable QB play too.
  17. McDonald!!! There’s that defense !
  18. I’ll take that call in the endzone for payback on the missed holding and PI calls. Plus, their players have been pushing us after the play on several plays, it was a pattern.
  19. Nice jobs on this drive of satying ahead of the chains, creative running, and giving defense a rest.
  20. As Wingo gets more experience he needs to learn how to play through that contact and not look so hard for the flag.
