Ohio St. names Sayin as starter
He hasn't coached in college in 20 years but he has been coaching. A leopard don't change his spots, the same tendencies he had in the NFL will show up in 9 days.

Ohio St. names Sayin as starter
I was talking that from my standpoint Sark didn't have tape on Martindale before going into Ann Arbor, he watched a lot of Ravens tape and had his team prepared. I'm just saying having a new DC isn't the adavantage it seems to be. The continuity Texas has enjoyed is more of an advantage. They get to do what they've been doing since day 1 of Sark. If Patricia comes in with all these exotic coverages and schemes he's more likely to confuse the defense not Arch.

You have way too much confidence in either your offensive Listen to who you want did you watch it? What did you see? You seen a lot of drags underneath and a lot of go routes. If you didn't I'm wasting my time talking to you because you don't know the route tree and if you don't know the route tree you don't know football. What I said is exactly what you see a lot of run after catch or he was head tapping. And to answer your question if you're relying on qetting rid of the ball quick how deep is your drop and doesn't the route and drop have to be timed together. Or are you saying Sayin can throw 70 yards down field on a 3 step drop.

Some of you guys are overstating Patricia or seem to not understand how good of a play caller Sark is. While I'm not comparing Michigan to Ohio State or Patricia to Martindale, saying or thinking that Sark will be caught of guard because of a new DC is crazy. Michigan for all of their woes and they had many, defense wasn't one of them, and Sark sliced through them like butter.

Two of the four tackles we lost last year were from the portal. Texas as of late has been spot on in their evaluations. Previously at Texas as to why we were mired in mediocrity is one, we didn't pay enough attention to the trenches on either side, two we would get top ten classes, but it'd be lean heavily on skill positions. One thing everyone would tell you is when we lost Couburn and Ojomo to the draft we worried. Then we lost Murphy and Sweat and were about to crap ourselves. Now we lost Norton, Lole, Broughton, and Collins we're like who's next. Kenny Baker has been a wonderful addition to Sark's staff.

Smith is not a polished wideout. He really doesn't run routes. He runs drags and gos. He's not a reciever you want to play trail technique or really try to jump with him. You don't play Smith you play the ball and limit his yard after catch. Otherwise you're just gonna get head tapped on ran away from. Play disciplined in your technique and coverage and you're good.

How should Texas deal with Jeremiah Smith in rematch with Ohio State?
We're not saying he's not good. We pointed out what he does well. Up and down this thread you'll see where we said he's an extremely talented passer of the football, highly accurate, processes and releases quickly. Pointing out athleticism, escaping ability, or arm strength isn't bashing him. It does and will show up. I truly believe we didn't score more touchdowns in the redzone because of Quinn's arm strength. Sayin is going to do just fine.

Just an observation, but is there a reason that for whatever hash the ball is lined up on that's the side both QBs throw to? They almost never throw backside. Not saying they can't(even if that's how I feel) only that they don't.

How should Texas deal with Jeremiah Smith in rematch with Ohio State?
I do for a number of reason, but mainly because instead of having a package he'll have a scripted plan that Sark has been implementing all summer. Either way the game still has to be played.

Throwing the ball far isn't arm strength. Quinn could throw the ball 70 yards and nobody here would say he has a strong arm. Arch has arm strength and when he rips it you see it, evidenced by how quickly the ball gets on you. Sayin is a very talented passer and extremely accurate, but when throwing the ball from the opposite hash it dies on him.

My bad 😂 apologies Sir

How should Texas deal with Jeremiah Smith in rematch with Ohio State?
I think he's closer to Tua than Quinn because he's a little more athletic than most give him credit for.

How should Texas deal with Jeremiah Smith in rematch with Ohio State?
That's not what I said. I said I didn't powering the ball in tight windows. I didn't say he didn't have arm talent or inaccurate.

How should Texas deal with Jeremiah Smith in rematch with Ohio State?
When watching the spring game or his time in against Michigan State I didn't see him powering the ball into tight windows. People confuse being able to throw far and a strong arm. Joe Milton has a strong arm, Will Howard had a strong arm, that's not what you get from Sayin.

Sayin from what little I've seen doesn't have the biggest arm. He thrives in the short to intermediate area, I don't see Day leaving him out to dry on many 5 to 7 step drops. I expect to see them move Sayin's launch point, a lot of screens, hitches, slants, and comebacks. Tackling has to be on point, limiting YAC is the key. In my opinion Smith is big and fast with gold status in head tapping dbs deep. He's not the most polished route runner.

It was said on the live that Julian is comparable to Quinn. I don't see that at all for a number of reasons, for instance, he's more athletic, his mechanics are sound, and he has a much stronger arm. If I were to compare to anyone it would be Alabama Tua.

NFL horns update
Crazy that the run block right after this play was even better. The only and I mean only reason he didn't go higher is measurables.

Emmett Mosely V Every play
The way I gauged it separation yards between he and the nearest defender. Even on his long score that throw was perfect, the defender gambled and missed. The good thing about throwing outside is everyone is inside. But even still he was getting hawked down, without the key block at the end he doesn't score. I don't see Sark using him like Stanford did. Once Sark shows Stanford the player they couldn't unlock, somebody in Palo Alto is getting fired.

Banks is good. Like real good he just collapsed his side and went on to block the backer on the second level.
