The Way to Beat Texas??????
"Better athletes"? Overall I think both teams are very athletic some better than others depending on position group. I think we will be able to run the ball if they sell out to that alignment. We also have a mobile QB and so they will be prone to the scramble if they commit everyone to pass defense, unlike last year. I think we will be OK.

Who has the edge going into 8/30?
This is a toss-up at their place. I hope we are as ready as we seem to be. Won't make or break either team's season though but would love the momentum gained by winning this game.

12 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 12?
Sorry these two had to have same number as I think they are both legends but got to go with Colt here for his time on the 40.

Would you take this regular-season outcome for the Longhorns right now?
I would but hoping we reach our ceiling. To be honest I look at next year as the year we should take it all but I am hopeful Arch and our O line can get it going on a dime and not go through the normal hiccups of a first year starter. Time will tell.

I like the burnt orange one with the logo the best.

John Mateer sports gambling??
Unless the NCAA has the power to subpoena his banking and credit card records, this matter is closed.

Ewers
I place much of his performance on a very porous third string O line and half his passes that were incomplete were either drops or throw aways. Not a good sample size to base a judgment.

NFL horns update
Agree completely.

NFL horns update
Quinn was playing with their third string which affected a lot. There were no Goldens out there running routes for him and protection was lacking but he still appears to be hamstrung by his poor pocket escapism. He showed flashes but overall was a poor first outing that he can build on.

Very “Quintessential” post! Thanks.

CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
It is variable on ACL surgery, but a general rule would be 9-12 months. The aspect that we do not now is reportedly other ligaments were injured as well which could make his expected recovery take longer.
-
CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
That would definitely change things

CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
Everyone is different after ACL surgery depending on several factors, but it generally takes 6-12 months usually closer to the latter for running backs. He is in that window and being a guy who has powerful legs and directional cuts he will retrain his muscles and gain strength and confidence back soon. The surgery is healed but it takes a while to get full strength and rom back in all the muscle groups. Suspect he will get limited reps that will increase over the first month.

That can be put to bed👍🏻

Sark interview on The Herd
Yes. Cowherd had previously predicted Arch would only be there only one more year which is why Sark made that statement along with calling Cowherd out on his previous Nick Saban prediction to Cleveland. Sark doesn't miss much.

He has big leaguer written all over him Congrats to him.

O-8
Let's not gloat now fellas. Those were pretty bleak days sort of like throwing your drink at the TV after your team stinks it up in a game then later cheering after the big come back win. We knew Sark would get it done so the OP can now addend that title to 5-0. 🤩

Hard to ignore a guy who won state 100 and 200 meter. I bet you are right. Diamond in the rough.

Confused Californian Asks: Why Is A&M Our Rival?
As one who grew up in Texas I definitely get why A&M is considered a rival, but having lived out of state the last 30 plus years I also agree with your perspective as well.

Help me understand...New Recruiting Math
I think you are right but also think the overall effect will not be a killer for us and we will bounce back once the rules are fully known. We have taken a conservative approach to things which considering to our present roster depth I think is the right move.

Phil Steele position group rankings: Texas well represented
Yes, and I think they are underestimated and could end up stronger than last years in some respects if the chips fall right.

A deeper understanding of what is happening
We have a stacked roster, and I think Texas playing the long game is the right move here. The teams that are overloading and breaking the rules are going to swallow a bitter pill in the next couple of years with penalties and player retention nightmares.
