Really hope Sydir is locked in. I remember seeing him on the sideline during the k St game last year playing with the Bevo mascot as the defense is on the other end in the red zone. Seems like he should have been next to Bo Davis in case his number is called. At the very least be engaged and taking mental reps…. Guess that’s just the Sunday morning football player in me. Ant Hill is the dude we’ve been missing out on for 10+ years. Hard nosed SEC defenders. Malik Jefferson was good for us, but I think Hill is a deferent type of dude.

Why should they reward non P4 champions? A football season is too short, and there’s not a big enough sample size to include those teams. Making a case for a fringe top 40 team in the playoff is ridiculous.

You are taking away an opportunity from a team to give it to Miami Ohio? And Troy? They need to all be at large bids. There isn’t enough spots to reward conference Champions. If they pass the eye ball test then fine… but it’s not happening for those schools. TCU is the only actual upset I can think of in the playoff era. Perhaps 15 Ohio st.

I think 8 was the perfect number. No auto bids and no first round byes. Let the 1st round be campus games, and semifinals and finals be at neutral stadiums.
