  1. The second known offer to come from today's Junior Day was bestowed on Rickey Wright, a running back from Tyler Chapel Hill. Wright, who is 5-foot-10, 180 pounds. Wright is one of the state's most prolific offensive prospects with more than 6,000 yards rushing in his high school career. He was district offensive MVP as both a sophomore and junior. Last season alone, he rushed for 2,855 yards and 40 touchdowns. Wright and his teammate Demtrius Brisbon, who plays QB for Chapel Hill, are both currently committed to SMU. 4. Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns have granted their newest scholarship offer at today's Junior Day. The honor goes to Ryan Fodje, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive lineman from Bridgeland HS in the Houston area. Fodje also holds scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Texas A&M and others. He is one of only a handful of in-state offensive linemen to be offered by Sarkisian and offensive line coach Kyle Flood for the class of 2025. Fodje is on the left in the tweet below.

  6. According to a source in Tucson, Texas is expected to host Tiaoalli Savea, a defensive tackle from Arizona, on a visit this weekend, possibly as soon as today. Savea, who is 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, entered the transfer portal officially yesterday. From Las Vegas' Desert Pines High School, Savea originally signed with UCLA out of high school before transferring to Arizona. He logged 22 tackles and six tackles for loss in 2023 for an Arizona defense coordinated by current Texas linebackers coach Johnny Nansen. Texas already has seven commitments from the NCAA transfer portal - three receivers, one tight end, one pass rusher, one linebacker and a defensive back. But the Horns are sorely looking for more interior defensive line prospects to add to the rotation. Savea appears to fit that bill. Washington, where former Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch moved this off-season, is also expected to be under consideration.
