According to a source in Tucson, Texas is expected to host Tiaoalli Savea, a defensive tackle from Arizona, on a visit this weekend, possibly as soon as today.
Savea, who is 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, entered the transfer portal officially yesterday. From Las Vegas' Desert Pines High School, Savea originally signed with UCLA out of high school before transferring to Arizona.
He logged 22 tackles and six tackles for loss in 2023 for an Arizona defense coordinated by current Texas linebackers coach Johnny Nansen.
Texas already has seven commitments from the NCAA transfer portal - three receivers, one tight end, one pass rusher, one linebacker and a defensive back. But the Horns are sorely looking for more interior defensive line prospects to add to the rotation.
Savea appears to fit that bill.
Washington, where former Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch moved this off-season, is also expected to be under consideration.

Texas was set to host three Mater Dei (CA) prospects this weekend for the Junior Day festivities on Saturday.
As of 9:00 p.m. on Friday night, one of those prospects is no longer expected to make the trip to Austin – 2025 LB Nasir Wyatt.
2025 RB Jordon Davison made it to town earlier this evening around 5:00 p.m. and will be a complete participant tomorrow for the junior day fun. Texas RB coach Tashard Choice made the trip out to Mater Dei on Tuesday of this week, furthering the efforts to land the talented back.
2026 LB Shaun Scott is the other Mater Dei prospect expected to attend this weekend. Scott's flight to Austin was delayed Friday night, however he is still expected to make it to the 40 Acres tomorrow.
We will provide an update tomorrow morning when the fun begins.

The Longhorns offered Weldon, N.C. safety Enarri White, a class of 2026 prospect, on Friday. Safeties coach Blake Gideon is leading the charge on his recruitment and the 6-foot-1, 190 pound defender told On Texas Football that he plans to visit Austin around summer, along with his mother.
Of the schools who have offered, White says Texas, USC and Penn State are his current favorites.

Former Washington cornerback Jabbar Muhammad, a second-team All-Pac 12 selection in 2023, and his family made an official visit to Texas on Wednesday and Thursday.
Muhammad, who recorded three interceptions for the national runner-ups this season, is slated to visit Alabama today and Oregon next week.
If Muhammad plans on enrolling at Texas, he must make a decision no later than Jan. 30, which is the last day to enroll in classes at Texas for the spring term.
Texas is said to have made a favorable impression on the visit and is thought to be the front-runner, though Oregon could make things even more interesting. Of course, Muhammad also has a lot of familiarity with the new staff at Alabama given his time playing for Kalen DeBoer at Washington.
