With OU getting sent to the NIT …

Texas is 3-10 against NCAA Tournament teams this season.

Tex has never been to back to back elite 8’s…

I think we handle uva/csu but the peacocks will be a tough matchup in the second round.

Texas as a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament since 1999 (when Rick Barnes took over)

1999-00: No. 7 seed Texas lost to No. 10 seed Purdue 58-54

2008-09: No. 7 seed Texas beat No. 10 seed Minnesota 76-62. Texas lost to No. 2 seed Duke 74-69 in the Round of 32

2013-14: No. 7 seed Texas beat No. 10 seed Arizona State 87-85. Texas lost to No. 2 seed Michigan 79-65 in the Round of 32

2021-22: No. 7 seed Texas (Chris Beard's first and only season) beat No. 10 seed Virginia Tech 81-73. Texas lost to No. 2 seed Purdue 81-71 in the Round of 32.

Weren't we a 6-seed against 11-seed VT and 3-seed Purdue?

How many Big 12 teams go down in Round of 64?

Did yorkmark post this? Notice Texas was the only school in lower case letters. Hmm...

I think we got a pretty good bracket. Tennessee doesn't have the kind of team wide shooting that can make you nervous, and their lead guard is a midget like ours. Going to be interested to see who wins that 10/10 1st round game. It is a contrast in styles.

This team is sooo inconsistent i wouldn’t be surprised with a first round exit or an elite 8 appearance, But prefer the latter

You got that right. Goobers have been getting on me for pointing this out. The Neils of the world will go on until they can't. Which will be the first round.

Gerry thinks we're wonderful on offense so it's all great. Don't matter that he's playing numbers that don't matter. We're great. Let's go celebrate!

lol. Man you are a beating. Texas is a very good offensive team. Every metric is telling you that, but you are a complete brick head.  If Texas is going to maximize the season, that's the only way it will happen.

Texas has one shot to be a quality team, and win a game in the NCAA Tournament - its offense. It will not be on defense, it will not be playing complimentary basketball. That is not what the strength of this team is.

You keep chirping about what you want to this Texas to be, or wish they would be. I'm simply stating what they are, and what this team will have to do to maximize. I sincerely hopes that helps your continued takes!

The 2023 Elite 8 ...

Miami (Fla) - not in NCAA tournament

UConn - favorite to repeat, No. 1 seed in East Region

Gonzaga - No. 5 seed in Midwest Region

Kansas State - not in the NCAA Tournament

Texas - No. 7 seed in Midwest Region

San Diego State - No. 5 seed in the East Region

FAU - No. 8 seed in the East Region

Creighton - No. 3 seed in Midwest Region

I'm not LOLing, but I hope you're right. We're really inconsistent. You throw up numbers. We'll probably get our ass kicked the next game. Terry has no offense. We make threes every once on a while. Won't get us anywhere. We don't run an offense. We throw around and suck. If we did this in football everyone would be hunting for scalps. Chirp that.

Clip it, keep it. Do what you want.

You keep hammering what your expectation is, what you want this Texas team to be. The reality, which seems to be your struggle on this topic, is that is not what this team will be.

You have sat here and said Texas runs no offense, you don't know what Texas is on offense, they aren't good on offense ... even after someone gives your illustration on what hey do offensively, shows you it's not correct... you keep banging that head against a brick wall.

I guess it's admirable in a weird way lol

I want to make it clear that Gerry knows much more than me. That said, I'd bet my bottom dollar

Gerry, you know much more than me. I'm not denying that. That said, I don't think we're going anywhere in the tournament. Doesn't matter. I'll ride you with you and OTF any day. Thanks for working hard for us.
