dumb question, but i stopped watching the CWS after Texas was knocked out.  what kind of game were OU and UNC playing (guerrilla ball, big arms, contact and speed, etc)?  I was shocked OU got there, but man they got hot.  

do you see a ping ater a starter 2-3 bullpen arms a this point?

Laya, I’m sure would be fine, but he was terrible in the Super.  For those that criticize our guys for weak CWS performance.

i have no idea about the incoming freshman, but a program like Texas should receive immediate contribution from at least one incoming freshman.  Mendoza should improve back to his better self too.  Pack could increase power numbers even if the average doesn’t quite hold.

In their wins over UNC they gave up 3 runs and 2 runs.  In game 1, it was tied 3-3 then all 6 OU runs after that were via non-home runs.  In game 3, only 1 of OUs first 10 runs was via home run.

In their first 3 CWS games, they gave up 0, 3, and 4.  Versus Bama, only two of the 9 runs were from homers.

In their Super they gave up 1 and 2 runs.  They were up 7-1 in one of those games before their first homer.  In the other game, KU didn’t score until the 8th.

In their final game in the regional they scored 3 runs via home run.  But down 7-3 heading into the 7th all 4 runs scored to send it to extras were scored via something other than a homer.

In their 7 wins in the Super Regional and CWS, they gave up no more than 4 runs, and that 4th run in that game was up 8 in the 9th.  Team ERA just above 2.00 in those 7 wins.  They won it all because they were playing the best all around game.

The Oklahoma run reminded me a lot of Rangers run. Barely made it in and got hot.

Like Blake said, they do not have to declare.  Many make the decision to go pro or not after the draft.  The really good ones who are predicted to high, may indicate in advance they are going but still have to wait and see how high they go in the draft.  College players and high schoolers who want to go but are not sure where they will be drafted just sit back and wait for the draft and then make a decision based on how high they are drafted and how much money they will get.  Some high schoolers who will probably be drafted sometimes tell pro scouts that they intend to go to college even if drafted and that can effect where they are drafted, probably slipping a bit in the draft.  With some NIL money available for college ball there is more of an enticement to play in college for some of the people.  Of course, there are some really good players who still choose to go to college even if they are drafted relatively high because they and their families want the college experience, an education, and development.

Agreed.  Replacing Pendergast / Duplantier with a much better OBP and not losing any speed / defensive capabilities.  Plus, 3+ seasons potentially on the roster (good for culture).
