Texas is set to host over 100 top prospects this weekend for the first Junior Day of the calendar year. While there has been plenty of attention in the NCAA Transfer Portal, the Texas staff will begin making strides towards filling out the 2025 puzzle. This list is imperfect and there will be plenty of prospects to arrive on campus that are not listed here, however the compilation of 100 prospects that we have compiled here at On Texas Football make this one of the most attended Junior Day

OnTexasFootball broke the news earlier this week that Folsom (Calif.) High 4-star DL Josiah Sharma was expected to visit this weekend. OTF can confirm that Folsom High is represented at Texas right now. There is at least one member of the Folsom High staff on campus as well right now.  Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek 4-star cornerback Cobey Sellers got to campus at around 6am this morning to take in the team prep prior to Friday morning spring practice.  OTF can also report that 2027 RB

Texas defensive analyst William Gay will not be making it to spring ball after being hired January 20. The Washington Commanders have swooped in and snagged the former Steelers analyst only a month into his time as a Longhorn. Gay is joining the Commanders as an assistant defensive backs coach.

You know it is the offseason when hypothetical rankings are the subject of conversation, but this is part of why I love college football as much as I do. My personal rankings of the SEC from today, February 9. I will present a case for each school with a brief summary of why their ranking made sense to me. These rankings won't please everybody, which means it's only a matter of time before I get an AP vote, right? Anyways, to the rankings of the SEC from more than 200 days away from kickoff

Even on the morning of its softball team playing for a national championship, Texas Tech leadership proves once again why it's the laughingstock of college sports. According to a source-and in direct contradiction to a statement made last week by Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire- the Red Raiders never received agreement from Texas State head coach GJ Kinne to cancel their game with Texas, nor did McGuire, athletic director Kirby Hocutt, or Tech chairman Cody Campbell receive it from any other

New Texas defensive line coach Kenny Baker was on the road yesterday for the first time as a Longhorns assistant. He made the rounds in Houston. As has been reported, Baker visited Cy Fair's Landon Rink. Rink's father Shane played for the Longhorns. On Texas Football has learned that Baker also took the time to go see Spring defensive lineman Floyd Guidry. Both players have offers from the Horns and both were in Austin for the program's junior day January 20. ** Just because

Recruiting. It hasn’t been front of mind for many given spring training just closed, but it is really starting to heat up behind the scenes. Texas sits at nine commitments. That’s a solid amount. Yet with the month of April coming to an end, we will likely see that number at least double in the next 60 days. So naturally, recruiting is a primary focus inside the building. A few recruits will make decisions in the next 15-30 days, while most are targeting a June decision.

Texas is five practices into spring football now – two practices have concluded with full pads. The Longhorns will practice again on Friday, but there will be no media availability then due to the Texas Relays this weekend. On top of another smooth practice, there was a part of me that felt comfort in the direction of the program that resulted in what I heard off the field from David Gbenda and Quinn Ewers. Before I get into that part of things, I will share a couple of notes that stood out

I made the quick trip over to Del Valle High School Tuesday afternoon to get updated on a few prospects that could pop up on college radars over the next couple of months. There were three that really caught my eye that I will dive into a bit further into this piece. *** First off, Del Valle has produced a solid D1 piece or two basically every other year since I arrived in Austin. The school has tremendous facilities, some of the nicest in the state, yet has seen a lot of turnover at t

Wednesday morning recruiting nuggets  If Texas fans are wondering who could be the next prospect to receive and offer from the Longhorns, time to take a look toward the Golden Triangle. OnTexasFootball was informed Tuesday night that the Texas staff is close to offering Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial 2026 LB Tai'yion "Tank" King.  King, 6-1.5 and 210'ish, is an instinctive downhill linebacker that has been a force for the Titans since his freshman year on varsity. King has 15 offers with
