AUSTIN, Texas — I’ve been waiting for Steve Sarkisian’s status report on Rasheem Biles. He finally delivered one after Tuesday’s practice. It can be tough to gauge a linebacker’s performance in non-padded practices, so patience was required while waiting to hear feedback on how the Pitt transfer was adjusting to life in a Texas uniform and his role in Will Muschamp’s defense. When Sarkisian was rattling off players he’d consider pleasant surprises through seven practices, he described how t

I just reconfirmed with someone close to Quinn that he is still expected to throw on Wednesday at the Longhorns' pro day. Pro day will be particularly important to four Longhorns IMO: 1. Quinn Ewers - Quinn is a potential first-round pick this time next year. But it will be the first in-person scouting event of many upper-level executives. How he performs on Wednesday will have a bearing on some thinking heading into next year's draft. 2. Jaylan Ford - the linebacker did not test

Texas just wrapped up its 2024 Pro Day at the Bubble in Austin which included an eye-popping number of scouts and attendees.  It was reported by ESPN's Matt Miller over 90+ scouts were there in-person to check on the 13 participants for the Longhorns today. Texas hosted 120+ prospects on campus this weekend for their first junior day of the 2024 calendar year. Among that group was a great deal of offered prospects that made the trip as well. A quick recap, to the best of my knowledge, of the names from the 2025 class that visited campus on Saturday that currently hold an offer in hand: Quarterback – KJ Lacey visited campus on January 13th and will be back on January 27th. No other 2025 QBs were on campus. Running Back Ma

Monday’s news of Liona Lefau’s departure from the Texas football program, along with DeAndre Moore Jr.’s intention to declare for the 2026 NFL Draft, is collateral damage amid the persistent roster volatility permeating throughout college football. The Longhorns planned to use the transfer portal to bolster the linebacker position before Lefau’s decision to enter the transfer portal went public. With Lefau’s production over 42 career games played and 22 starts gone, Texas will look for prov

Calvin Anderson doesn’t get enough credit for what he did during his lone season in a Texas uniform. A transfer from Rice who started each of the Longhorns’ 14 games during a 10-win season in 2018, Anderson brought stability to a Texas offensive line that, at the time, was in desperate need of a consistent, stabilizing force. When Connor Williams went down with a knee injury in the third game of the 2017 season, the Longhorns couldn’t find an adequate replacement. Denzel Okafor (four starts
