Hook'Em! Alabama portal tight end Amari Niblack has made it official, he will be joining the Texas Longhorns for the 2024 season. Niblack arrived for a visit in Austin early Thursday afternoon and it did not take long for the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder to join the boat and commit to Steve Sarkisian's Texas program. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian wasted no time focusing on receiver Isaiah Bond, the Alabama receiver, when Bond officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday. The Longhorns offered Aldine Nimitz linebacker Javar Thomas today.  Earlier this afternoon, Texas assistant coach Jeff Banks stopped by the school to meet with Thomas and it was then that an offer was extended. The 6-3, 195-pound linebacker is currently ranked a three-star prospect by both On3 and 247Sports. Thomas also holds offers from Washington, SMU, Houston, UTSA, Baylor, TCU and Texas State.  

The second known offer to come from today's Junior Day was bestowed on Rickey Wright, a running back from Tyler Chapel Hill. Wright, who is 5-foot-10, 180 pounds. Wright is one of the state's most prolific offensive prospects with more than 6,000 yards rushing in his high school career. He was district offensive MVP as both a sophomore and junior. Houston area 4-star EDGE locks in Texas visit Alief (Texas) Hastings EDGE Smith Orogbo was offered by area recruiter Jeff Banks January 22, 2024. Since that time, he has built a relationship with the Texas staff - Banks, Pete Kwiatkowksi and Steve Sarkisian.  Orogbo, 6-5 and 215 pounds, told OnTexasFootball Monday night that he has locked in a visit to Texas April 6. The Texas Longhorns June 14-16 official visitor list continues to grow by the day.  This afternoon, Katy (Texas) Jordan 4-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh told OnTexasFootball he has locked in an official visit June 14-16.  Marsh, 6-1 and 175 pounds, will also make an unofficial visit to Texas March 25.  The OnTexasFootball 4-star pass catcher received a January school visit from Steve Sarkisian, Jeff Banks and Chris Jackson. Houston area cornerback locks in Texas official visit Missouri City (Texas) Marshall High 2025 cornerback Caleb Chester told OnTexasFootball that he has locked in an official visit to Texas.  Chester, 6-1 and 170 pounds, will make an official visit to Texas June 7-9.
