Over the last few days we have covered the ins and the outs of both sides of the ball. However, now it is time to take a deeper look behind the curtain with the task of pinpointing which Longhorns might steal headlines over the next month and a half. Five prospects I have my eyes on this spring to make a big time splash for the 2024 Longhorns. *** DL Jaray Bledsoe – Redshirt Sophomore Bledsoe has all of the athleticism you could desire for a defensive lineman. After seeing ju

Before the Texas Longhorns return to the practice field for the third week of spring ball on Tuesday, I want to look at five players who appear poised to further establish their roles on the 2026 squad. — The injuries and on-the-mend status of multiple safeties have opened the door for Derek Williams Jr. to lock down the starting spot next to Jelani McDonald. Factor in the combination of Williams being almost 16 months removed from the knee injury that ended his 2024 season, with the return

Including last Saturday’s open practice, five Longhorns are trending in the right direction coming out of spring football. I’m not predicting that these players will start for Texas in 2026 or have significant roles. Still, there are five Longhorns whose stock has gone up relative to where I thought it was when spring practice began in March. Kobe Black, CB, Jr. I didn’t expect Black to end spring practice ahead of Kade Phillips at the cornerback spot opposite of Bo Mascoe.

Steve Sarkisian is scheduled to meet with reporters for a media availability on Monday. It’ll be the first time Sarkisian has fielded questions in such a forum since the Longhorns ended the 2025 season with a 41-27 win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Whether it’s how the organization navigated the highs and lows of the transfer portal window, several Texas players (including Arch Manning) undergoing surgery or Blake Gideon returning to the Forty Acres, a lot has happened

Five recruitments with intrigue The most fun aspect about recruiting for Texas fans in the Steve Sarkisian era is the national recruiting approach. That national approach bring quite a bit of intrigue in a recruiting cycle, even for those that cover the Longhorns recruiting. That's because Texas is placing boots on the ground in new areas of the country, seemingly in every cycle. That's makes for fun and intrigue with the move to the SEC just months away. This morning, I take a look a

Spring football kicks off in just over 24 hours from right now. We have made it. It is here. Finally, we can sideline the hypotheticals and get to the real action on the field. For all of the excitement this offseason has built, there remains plenty of unforeseen turns before the end of the spring and many questions that are atop of the priority list when it comes to finding the true identity of this team. Practice No. 1 kicks off tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. I will be in attendance for the m

Other than the selection committee resisting the urge to pair Texas and Texas A&M together for a potential Austin Super Regional, there were no surprises when the field for the NCAA Tournament was unveiled on Monday. For the second year in a row, Jim Schlossnagle’s club earned a top-8 national seed. The committee awarded the Longhorns the No. 6 overall seed, pairing Texas (40-13, 19-10 SEC) with the Eugene Regional (hosted by No. 11 overall seed Oregon) for the Super Regional. One
