No. 21 Texas 16, Kentucky 13 (OT): Postgame with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A goal-line stand by the defense and Mason Shipley’s third field goal of the night helped No. 21 Texas avoid a staggering upset on Saturday with a 16-13 overtime road win over Kentucky at Kroger Field.

On Texas Football has live coverage of the postgame press conference with coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns.

Well - I think you have to run running plays to have explosive runs.  Just sayin.

I think blocking would also be nice.

Texas’ MVPs yesterday:

1) Ryan Niblett

2) Defense

3) Getting the ball in field goal range in OT

Without all three of the above, Texas loses.

Bouwmeester played well also. 8 punts for 336 yards including 6 downed within the opponents 20. He has been a field flipper.

It’s called coach speak because every coach does it. Listening to pressers and expecting anything illuminating would be very frustrating.

People never seem to get angry with coach speak after a big win. Wonder why?

Not angry, just tired of it.

Sadly, Bouwmeester is probably the MVP of the season at this point.

At first I didn’t think it was arch . But he was still missing wide open targets when he had enough time in the pocket. It’s week 7 and his third year in the system. But as long as he looks good on air in practice that’s what counts right?

I think Arch is shook by the jailbreak he experiences damn near every time he drops back.  IMO, Sark has failed him by putting a ragtag bunch of OLinemen in front of him.  Quinn would have been sacked 30 times already by this oline.
