Earlier today around 1pm on his ranch, Jordan Shipley, the former Texas wide receiver, was involved in an accident. Shipley escaped the accident with the help of a worker nearby but he was severely burned in the process. Shipley was care-flighted to Dell-Seaton Hospital in Austin and is currently undergoing the first of what will likely be several surgeries ahead. Please pray for Jordan and his family, as well as his dad Bob Shipley, who is on the way to the hospital to be with Jordan

I'm elated to be a part of On Texas Football. My conversations with Bobby and Gerry recently reminded me of the early days of building the Texas site for 247Sports. Thoughts on what happened to No. 1 Texas in a 14-7, season-opening loss to No. 3 Ohio State
If you would’ve told me ahead of Saturday’s game that Texas would win the rushing yardage battle over Ohio State by 89 yards (166-77), limit the Buckeyes to a 4-for-14 effort on money downs (3-for-12 on third down and 1-for-2 on fourth down), hold the Ohio State offense to 3.8 yards per play and dominate field position (the averaging starting field position for the Longhorns was their own 32-yard line, while the Buckeyes’ averaging starting field position was their own 20), I would’ve expected t- 195 comments

In my years following recruiting, I’ve seen top five classes not actually “fit” the needs of the program, either immediately or over the long haul. Texas has done that a few times in my career. The Horns would need more guys on offensive line yet come up short. Or perhaps they needed more guys in the secondary and it just didn’t get addressed as well as it could have. It’s typical, even for the very best classes,

The No. 7 seed Texas Longhorns (21-12) beat Colorado State Thursday night to advance to the Round of 32 for a third consecutive season. That's a program first since 2009. Rodney Terry and Longhorns will face a very familiar coach in the Round of 32, Rick Barnes. No. 2 seed Tennessee (25-8) beat up on a bad Saint Peter's offensive team Thursday night to the tune of 83-49. No. 7 Texas and No. 2 Tennessee will tip off at 7 p.m. central Saturday night in front of a national televis
