Throughout the 2025 season, whenever I’ve been asked to describe or define the identity of the Texas offense, my answer hasn’t changed. It's Arch Manning. When the Longhorns started a critical fourth-quarter drive in Wednesday’s 41-27 win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, with Texas (10-3) facing a 27-24 deficit with 10:56 remaining in regulation, @Rod Babers wondered out loud during our watch along whether Steve Sarkisian would focus on players or plays to move the football. Texas forward Dailyn Swain is keeping his name in the 2026 NBA Draft, officially forgoing the rest of his collegiate eligibility. “Two feet in” is how Swain is characterizing his draft status, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello, who reported on Wednesday that Swain has “closed the door” on returning to the Longhorns. On Texas Football has reported since Swain declared for the draft on April 7 that Sean Miller and the Texas staff were building the 2026-27 roster with the idea that Swain

TAMPA, Fla. — Trevor Goosby didn’t mince words at SEC Media Days when asked to describe what went wrong when Texas tried to run the football in 2025. “Sometimes, first and foremost, we weren't physical enough,” Goosby said. “Obviously, we weren't moving bodies the way that we should have. And then, sometimes, I felt like we were just kind of playing as five individuals rather than five as one. “It was just kind of five offensive linemen out there rather than one offensive line unit,” h

Welcome back to the 2nd edition of the 2024 Texas Longhorn Mock Draft. Some major changes to how I view Texas Draft hopefuls following the conclusion of the NFL Combine and Texas Pro Day. Plenty of risers and a pair of fallers in the latest update.   ***  DL Byron Murphy – Round 1, Pick 15 to IND (up 1 spots) The Combine darling has remained in that 12-20 range in most mock drafts. I could see Murphy's stock go either way come draft day, however I like where the Co

We have heard all offseason about the new wide receivers and gadgets at the disposal of Quinn Ewers and the Texas Longhorns on offense. However, there have been some mighty important pieces added to Pete Kwiatkowski’s side of the ball as well. Several veteran portalers and a freshman class with plenty of talent as well. Texas finished the 2023 season ranked as the No. 12 ranked scoring defense (18.9 PPG). Having to replace Jaylan Ford, Byron Murphy, T’Vondre Sweat and Ryan Watts won’t be ea

Officially eight days away from the beginning of spring football here in Austin. Our Gerry Hamilton has repeatedly echoed the sentiment that this spring season will be the most anticipated in Texas history and there is very little reason for me to not agree at the moment. Today, we will start with the offensive side of the ball when it comes to previewing spring football. One sentence summary of the offense: There are plenty of new toys around Quinn Ewers who returns for year three beh

The Longhorns have made the top six cut for St. Ignatius College Preparatory OL John Mills out of San Francisco, California. Mills is a top target on the Texas board and was previously on campus for the January 20 junior day. The four-star offensive lineman is expected back in Austin April 6 for the loaded Texas visitors weekend and has an official visit locked in for June 14-16. Kyle Flood has done a tremendous job to date in this recruitment.
