Wish we could still celebrate the McDonald's in Plainview

We do the same thing in our local rec league football (ages K-6th grade). The coaches and commissioners meet up at the field house 30 minutes following the conclusion of the last game.

A few years ago we had to break a 5-way tie! 🤪

That's awesome. As a native Lubbockite (I escaped), it makes me want to puke seeing Amarillo High get in 😭

If this wasn't done at an Allsup's, it should be a required re-flip. Travesty.

For those that don't know, Amarillo High actually went 8-2 during their season but ended up having to forfeit 6 of their wins due to a clerical technicality that UIL ruled a player ineligible (the district allows open transfers but a paper didn't get submitted earlier in the season--the school district and administration is who screwed this up). They announced this forfeiture the morning of their last game of season in which they would be battling their crosstown rival Tascosa for 2nd place and a home 1st round playoff game, whom they beat 63-21 that night without knowing if they would even have a chance to make the postseason after a great season. I am an Amarillo High grad and am so happy for these kids who truly had an amazing season--they still get a chance to continue their season.
