Sark eyeing NFL per report

Featured Replies

NFL coaching jobs are easier than college. Doesn’t surprise me coaches would rather be in the NFL.

Playing this game on game day when you are 5-2 and had a 172 yards last week … “take the train” is my response

It’s obviously Jimmy Sexton leak … we shall see what the real reason is the next few weeks

Great morale builder on game day. Great job, Sark. Real a-hole move imo.

If he's thinking about leaving mid season, I hope he goes. Texas needs a guy committed to the job, not a stepping stone who looks for new opportunities when the going gets tough.

Absolutely. Timing of this leak on game day is a very bad look for Sexton/Sark

Actually I don’t think so. I think he likes being a student at Texas so it would depend on the new hire. Plus he hasn’t exactly made a case for larger NIL elsewhere.

Gerry, you almost seem ready for us to move on from Sark already

Alright…

What names would be feasible?

-Freeman ain’t likely leaving ND for UT

-Saban is done done

-Kiffin probably headed to Florida

Kiffin would tell Florida to pound sand for Texas IMO

This explains the offense lacking the way it’s been all season. He hasn’t been locked in like we all assumed . POS move regardless. Just for the love of god do not pursue James Franklin .

Not sure I really care to be honest at this point.

I wonder if this is a public negotiation tactic with CDC re: hiring an OC.

Either way, something has been very, very off all season. We are historically bad on offense and that is unacceptable with what we are paying our HC and OC. If this continued into next season then leaving wouldn't be Sark's choice to make.

Sark has appeared distracted this year. He isn’t all in like last year. I assumed it was due to the difficulties around his family and the baby, which can change a lot of things, and be understandable. But he isn’t all the way in right now.

If this team lays an egg today does CDC pull the plug?

Maybe not this week, but they lay an egg at home vs vandy and he shouldn’t make it back to the locker room.

Letting that kind of info leak mid season feels like a dangerous game. Easy way to burn bridges with Texas leadership if they think his eyes are already on the NFL.

How’d I know you’d be one of the first people in this thread. Good stuff

It does make sense when you consider what’s been reported here. Texas current offense doesn’t match what was reported here, before the season started. It was also reported that Sark was “obsessed” with winning a national championship. Apparently that’s not true either. What’s strange, for me at least, is that I am not upset about him leaving. If he stays fine, if he leaves that’s fine too

Kiffin and PK with unlimited NIL would be juicy

If we want changes CDC not being happy with the product would be THE most important factor in things changing.

There’s no reason to re-negotiate. He just signed an extension recently. If he’s putting our feelers , he’s looking to leave.

Would an NFL team take a 6-6 head coach

Well they took a below .500 coach who was just fired in Kingsbury

Do you think it’s possible Sark has actually been looking and isn’t “All Gas No Brakes” currently?

Another point, whoever the next guy is better have his ducks in a row to keep the defensive staff we have. Not to mention the key returning defensive players we are expecting to have back next year…

Sark has done a great job rebuilding the program and Marcus Freeman would take it to the next level.

If sark isn’t committed to Texas we have the resources to find a better candidate
