If he's thinking about leaving mid season, I hope he goes. Texas needs a guy committed to the job, not a stepping stone who looks for new opportunities when the going gets tough.

Freeman never reached Charlie Strong’s level off success as a Defensive Coordinator, and Charlie took Louisville comparatively higher than what Freeman has taken ND into comparison where both programs where when they took over.

So the guy who’s reason for being Coach at Texas is because he’s an offensive play caller who currently has a dumpster fire offense despite a generational QB is now thinking the NFL is a good idea?

NFL execs know his offense is better ran and understood by professionals than by college kids. His play calling definitely suggests it.

That’s how I feel, he and Sexton did this last year (ESPN article dated Feb 20, 2025) so 8 months ago. Seems like you can’t pull this off in back to back years
