One thing I remember about Randy after all these years is he had a motor.  He played hard.  Always around the ball.

As a kid I listened to the Longhorns on the AM radio. The Southwest Conference on the Humble Oil and Refining Network. In those days the NCAA only allowed ONE game to be televised weekly on Saturday afternoon on ABC TV.

I remember the legendary radio play by play announcer Kern Tips calling Randy Braband's name a lot for tackles and PBUs. He mentioned Randy's high school a lot... I seem to recall he was from somewhere in SE Texas.

Great player on some great Texas Defensive squads.

Wonderful memories for me listening with my late father.
