I would want him if he was interested. Terrific offensive coach. Got to have an offensive maximizer these days in CBK IMO... he's that level. Many coaches run a lot of the action the NBA teams do

  • Hash you are very opinionated. Beard doesn’t drink . You don’t know what happened. All charges were dismissed.

Well, Royal Ivey or Jai Lucas are very obvious candidates, but not sure if CDC can sell the fan base on another guy with Barnes ties (and Shaka ties in Jai’s case). Not a lot of candidates out there that make a ton of sense if we start from scratch and go after best coach available regardless of if they have ties to Texas.

JT Toppin is a beast! In all seriousness if Drew goes to Indiana then he probably goes to Baylor. Then Tech will definitely pay high dollar for a coach. They are serious about basketball. Have a huge donor giving money to football and basketball.

It's also misleading.  McCasland's teams have never played at a fast pace.  Tech is extremely efficient on offense this year (due in large part to Hawkins being such a great penetrator and distributor), but it is not all that prolific at scoring.   In fact, it is playing games at the fourth slowest pace in Big 12 games.

Will Wade please

Never gonna happen.  Texas will not hire a head coach who currently has a show cause enforcement against him until June 2025.  Even if it was over this past December (it wasn't/isn't), they wouldn't hire him.

Losing 7 of last 9 with ugly losses 2 of the worst teams in SEC this month, can’t wait to see who CDC hires as our new head coach.   Has to be much better than this.

My best wish list for Longhorns new head coach is:

1) Scott Drew - 2021 natty and 3 consecutive Big12 COTY.   After 22 seasons, it’s time for Drew to make the jump and help put Texas on top of SEC.   Austin is a much better longterm home versus Waco or Bloomington, Ind.   Better resources, better weather, much better university.   Drew is even more proven than Beard with high character, sustained success.

2) Nate Oats - Obvious top choice for lots of reasons but cost of contract buyout makes this less likely

3) Royal Ivey is much less traditional but shows lots of upside.   Think this is too risky and unproven for CDC.

hook em! 🤘🏼🐂🧡

If only Terry had more resources. Doubtless the Longhorns would be playing hard, winning big, and in general looking like $17 million.

For the geniuses who argue Terry wasn't "supported" enough: Are any of them willing to claim that another P4 program will hire him as HC, set him up with a high level budget, and then wind him up and let him go?

I will admit im more of a basketball casual than most in this chat are I assume. But what is the reasoning y'all want Quin Snyder. From what I have seen he seems ok.

No because they have no basis to go off of. They just want to keep him for some reason even though throughout his career he has never had any consistent longstanding success.
