That traded would get VETO’ed in most fantasy leagues. How the Mavs didn’t hold out for multiple (thinking 3+) is beyond me. I don’t think the shopped him to anyone else.    Cuban would have ne

I am from Houston and not a Mavericks fan, but I don't understand that trade and feel sorry for their fans.

I'm also from Houston and not a Mavericks fan that doesn't understand the trade but I will NEVER feel sorry for their fans.

I'm a state of Texas guy. I'll support any and all things from our state. I've gone all over and dealt with people from all over, but I'll take Texas people as the best, That said, can't stand Mavs fans. They are the dumbest basketball fans I've ever come across.

Pansies in the draft don't work out. Kobe wanted to work out in 1996 when he was 17. Going up against guys who were 22 and even all pros. 17 damn years old and killing all pros in work-outs. In front of Jerry West. Wanted to land with the the Lakers. Boy made it happen. Jerry West was the greatest talent evaluator in the history of the NBA. You can't find that today.

Say that to say I think Arch gonna be better in football than Kobe in basketball. We talkin top three all time. Calling the shot.

Still can’t believe Luka is gone.

Wish we had new owners and they brought Luka back.

This fan base wants nothing to do with current management

No defense. Stupid analytics nonsense with stats that don't win games. Twenty-five percent body fat. Nice job Pelinka. Jerry West is rolling in his grave.

Trading one of the best defensive players in the league for a fat white boy who loves to jack thirty footers isn't a recipe for success.

For the Texas connection, Raja Bell said using analytics to rank Steph Curry over Kobe Bryant is the dumbest thing he ever heard. He played against both. It wasn't close.

Hug it, Mavs. All time Lakers by position against anything every other NBA franchise could possibly muster.

Point Guard: Magic Johnson (greatest point ever) 6' 9" Never been another 6' 9" point. Just imagine Magic and Kobe in the same backcourt

Shooting Guard: Kobe Bryant (second greatest shooting guard ever, but my favorite) 6' 6" greatest competitor ever

Small Forward: LeBrick James (greatest small forward ever) 6' 8" overrated but still best 3

Power Forward: Robert Horry (weakest position for the Lakers, fundamentally sound) 6' 10"

Center: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (greatest player ever) 7' 2"

Bench: Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Shaq, Gail Goodrich, James Worthy, Michael Cooper)

Fat boy Luka obviously doesn't make the list.

Gotta admit that Magic is the most amazing. How can you be 6'9" and be the best point guard ever? Best passer ever by a long shot. Could literally pass one handed off the dribble 70 feet.

Blocked. Mentioned this before. 19 May 2001. Game one WCF. Lakers v Spurs. Kobe goes for 45. Youngest but player in the game. Before the game, Stu Lantz asked Kobe what he was listening to. Kobe said, "AC/DC, Back in Black." Stu asked, "Why not rap?" Kobe said, "Man, that's real rap."

Greatest game in the history of the NBA. June 1985. Lakers first team to beat the Celtics on their home floor to win the title.

Magic was 25. Only starter older than him was Kareem.  He was 38 and still the best when it counted.

Going back to October 1973. Kissinger in Moscow during the Yom Kippur War. History of the world in the balance. We won the showdown. Die cast. Won the Cold War sixteen years later. Nothing Compares.
