  • Nice win. We have played three ranked teams in conference home games.  We lost to two top 5 teams in games that were within one possession with less than 2 minutes to go.  We just beat a top 25 t

Boom!  What a series.  Kaluma three.  Kaluma switching with Kent and stoning the big guy inside and getting the board.  Tre hitting the three.

Early pitch action in transition is a great plus. Little action like that creates advantage. Are we always going to get a made 3? No, but it triggers the dominoes to allow us to get an advantage downhill. Tempo/pace would help this group SUBSTANTIALLY.

Next possession after the Grill made 3 is an awful possession resulting in a <15% three point shot.

Pope doesn’t have the speed to get by his man.

Big thing we’ve learned this year in portal era..

just because you were good at a good mid major, does not mean you can be really effective at this level. Larry/Kent are good examples. Not terrible, but nowhere near productive, good SEC players.

Agreed, but that’s a possession that was doomed to die from outset. He’s given ball in iso set after Kent has taken life out of possession. No, he’s not a finisher or driver, but we’ve gotta be better in our initial after a make flow than just coming down and standing.

Those guys came quickly to Texas.

Twice Kent has dribbled once and stopped.

Pope is not this team’s issue; the idea Pope is a supplier of offense for others is an issue.

No he’s been scoring really well.

Larry has had a pretty good game so far.  A couple of nice assists.  3/4 from the line.  Taking it to the rim instead of doing nothing with the dribble.  He should have gotten another foul call, but he refs swallowed the whistle on the play.  I have little problem with Larry's play today.  He was worse than terrible Saturday, but whatever Terry told him after that game seems to have resonated.  At least it has so far.  Let's hope he keeps it up.

He's not Hawkins, but did we expect him to be?

On Pope’s last three I could tell it was short. Mark was on the other end and could see the same. He made no effort to go get the board

Shedrick once again is getting a few rebounds but providing nothing else.  He can't drive.  He can't pass.  He can't shoot outside of a few feet.  His profile at Virginia was as a rebounder/shot blocker.  He is that profile.  I had always hoped for more from him after that first few games he had last year, but we just haven't seen it.

Pope dribbled 24 seconds away on that possession.

Then he turned it over and committed the foul on the next.

And Pope comes out about 3 minutes too late.  He was awful from the get-go this half.
