The winter section of the transfer portal closes Dec 28th right? Will most of the guys we have been discussing like Tacario Davis, Branch, and the DT’s, announce before that date, or wait till the spring?

Seems like a lot to happen in the next 5-6 days.

You just have to enter before it closes. You don’t have to decide where you are going before it closes.

Plus teams in the CFP get a five day window for players to enter the portal once the team is eliminated from the playoffs

This is the key. 

There is a lot of factors. It "officially" closes on the 28th, but to my understanding you can still sign guys from the portal if they're already in. I believe playoff teams get a grace window after they're eliminated and then we also have to factor in coaches being fired where I think there is a window open there for kids to transfer out. 

So while we've taken some jabs to the face in the portal, there is still plenty of time to find some dudes.

Really good TE, but it's not a massive position of need. More of a cherry on top with some experience. I think Niblack, Washington and Shannon will be the main TE's next year. I think if Shannon comes a long, he can be a huge problem next for opposing teams.
