I really don't like Mack Brown.  His wife makes good cookies though.

Have you ever asked yourself why there are no tangible reminders stationed around DKR honouring or paying tribute to MB or his achievements after all these years? No statue or recognition ? No special lifetime achievement awards? 

Many speculate that the way he went out at Texas disqualified him in the eyes of those who make those decisions. One failure of thin skinned and insecure people is the hubris that keeps them from making a respectable exit from the limelight when the time become obvious. Those at North Carolina now know what Texas has known for a while. The public Mack we all recognise is not someone people want to remember with a statue. 

Why should he leave? I'm not leaving my job if they want to overpay me to keep on doing what I'm doing.

JK, my guess is that you must be highly effective and profitable to your company enough so that they want you to keep you around as a productive employee. If you have watched NC play this year they look very similar to some MB's final teams. Allowing James Madison hang 60 on you is grounds for termination I would think.

Funny thing about coaching contracts is that sucktitude on the field, no matter how egregious, is never "cause" for termination. 

Mack is 7 victors from passing Nick Saban on the all time winning record. It’s all about Mack not what’s for UNC football.

I understand that, but it's not on the coach to leave. It's on the school/admin to make the change.

I realize that Mack left a sour taste in the mouths of many Longhorns. Me included. 

However, I think this "Mack is selfish" stuff has outgrown the reality it was originally founded in, and it's silly.

I agree. If you’re a competitor, you always believe you have a chance. Outside of God or health telling you to move one, why quit?

Dumb question. Coaches are fired multiple times in their careers, even the good ones. It's the nature of the job.
