on the surly board.. someone posted up grades from the DTs at UT and AZs DT room from this past season.. this guy was behind Murph, Sweat and Collins.. however he is ahead of Trill and VB FWIW..

I must have looked at the wrong bio - it was early 

Bo didn't leave the room in a great spot. There's some talent but it's heavy on the developmental side. The 2025 DT room is very dicey as of today.

 

Hoping to see a DL coach soon and then get 1 to 2 DTs from portal ASAP

With the Texans loss, maybe Rod gets announced soon.. and they do have the AZ DT coming in on an official visit.  Think people need to understand is that no one is going to pick up where Murphy and Sweat left off..however we should be good with a nice rotation at both DT spots... pair that up with an improved DE/Edge/Jack room through growth/additions.. the DL is going to be straight this coming season.

You're correct there's time to fix it but the point remains.

Some players need more time than others to fully develop. Could we see a significant improvement from someone off the radar like Swanson. I haven’t heard him mentioned in awhile.

Ideally we add Savea if we view him as a take and then add another in April.

His 30 pound gain from 22 to 23 does beg the question, would he be able to enroll for the spring? An offseason in Austin might benefit him. Might get that 6’4 frame up to 320.

The real issue is at the Nose.. Texas has a bunch of 3 techs. Who is going to be able to consistently anchor vs double teams? Seems the only true 1 techs on the roster are Bryant, Mitchell, and January.. None of them have played much.

Mitchell seems to have the highest upside, but last I heard (mostly from Scipio) he gets winded quickly and they can't leave him in for a long drive. I've heard literally nothing about Bryant, which is usually a bad sign. 

Of course I thought the same thing about Sweat moving up after Coburn got drafted so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
