Countdown To Kickoff: Four Days Away - Memorable Play No. 4

As we get closer to the opener against Colorado State, I’m going to post a memorable play of the day that somehow represents that day’s number.

Since we're four days away, today's play is Limas Sweed's TD reception against Ohio State, on the road, in 2005. This game truly was the "springboard" for the Longhorns playing in the National Championship just months later.

Y’all were talking about the Phil Dawson’s game winner against UVA. I was at the game as a 13 year old in our seats in section 103 and remember how that ball just stopped and inched over the crossbar into that crazy wind that day. It is one of my favorite memories and just going crazy with everyone else in the stadium!! El Rancho tasted so sweet after that one!!!

I was at this game too as an 11 yr old I guess. One of my first lasting horn memories. My dad worked a gate and would let a few of us kids sneak in and run around the stadium on game days. What a blast.

As I recall they used to let people walk in for free in the 4th quarter back in the day.

Nice!!! I believe you’re right! Remember the 5 dollar end zone seats with a Dr. Pepper can?!?! They also used to have the stadium open for folks and we would go down and play games on the field, good times!!
