...AIR FORCE RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT FINDS BERYL STRONGER...

Satellite imagery and Barbados radar data indicate that the eye of
Beryl has made landfall on Carriacou Island at 1110 AM AST (1510
UTC). Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft
indicate that Beryl's maximum sustained winds have increased to 150
mph (240 km/h). The latest minimum central pressure estimated from
reconnaissance data is 950 mb (28.05 inches).

Beryl is a concern for me and many others. Still very early but something to watch as the week progresses. And there’s another tropical system right behind it

Getting closer to a cat 5 named storm ... but that will be over open water for next 18-24 hours prior to weakening

 

THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS...

Beryl continues to produce catastrophic winds and life-threatening
storm surge to the Grenadine Islands, Carriacou Island, and Grenada.
This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation.
Residents should not leave their shelter and remain in place through
the passage of these life-threatening conditions.

A weather station at Grenada airport recently reported a sustained
wind speed of 92 mph (148 km/h) and a gust of 121 mph (194 km/h).

A weather station in St. Lucia recently reported a sustained wind
speed of 52 mph (83 km/h) and a gust of 63 mph (102 km/h).

This is the last hourly Tropical Cyclone Update on Beryl. The next
intermediate advisory will be issued at 200 PM AST (1800 UTC).

That projected path sure looks like Texas is going to get some action from Beryl.  

Maybe a direct hit on the Coast and a lot of rain inland.

Be prepared.

This is why I left SETX and moved to the Austin area. If you've never had to board up and evacuate to only come back to destruction, believe me, you never want to.

Man it’s scary world we live in , praying everyone in his path has god on their side .

I go back to Hurricane Carla,  we were 90 miles inland and that got my attention at a young age.  I respect what Mother Nature is capable of.  

 

Going to be a hellacious season with ocean temperatures the way they are and El Niño giving way to La Niña.  The former tends to make a lot of Atlantic storms stay in the Atlantic.  The latter invites most of them into the Caribbean and Gulf.
