Spiegelman told me Texas was nothing more than an afterthought on Arch Manning. We all get things wrong, so Iโ€™m not throwing stones. But that was a pretty big one IMO.ย

Wild card recruitment ... as I have said.ย  The source, which is very close to LW-C, said Texas "absolutely" has a chance.ย  He also said A&M has the relationships advantage.ย  I belie

Thereโ€™s no guarantee they start next year.

This was funny once. You can stop now.ย

Actually not trying to be funny. I'm curious where us fans think all this NIL money is coming from?ย

Probably numerous sources. There is the Texas One Fund. I'm sure some of the BMD's chip in. There are many associated businesses with Texas alum, etc. Just my best guess anyway.ย

All 4 of those guys will play early, if they come here. Look at what's leaving and what we'll retain.

One of the 2 definitely beats out McCutcheon. Brown and Bishop are really slot guys. Lockett is the only guy that projects as a potential starter.. and he's still unproven. Yeah.. those 2.. have a tremendous shot at starting.. day one.

Why would an offensive player go to A&M when he could go to Texas?

Outside of just a larger NIL bid, help me understand that logic.

1) Depth - I don't think that's much of an issue on this recruitment.ย  Cooper will be there, the other two probably won't.ย  Also him and Cooper have two totally different running styles.ย  They would complement each other well.

2) Offensive Line - If I were Elko, I'd be playing tape of last year's Longhorn offensive line play.ย  I'd be playing tape of the year before too.

I'd also display a list of all the HS recruits since 2022 and ask him to name a single one that has developed into a stud.ย  Goosby is the only HS recruit he could name but Goosby won't be there when he arrives.ย

I would then ask to point out how many blue chip offensive linemen have been taken in recent recruiting cycles and compare it to A&M.ย

Hell, their offensive line class this year beats our 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 class COMBINED.

I would then point out that the architect of that recruiting and development is still employed at the University of Texas and no consultants have been hired to help him out of this mess.

He likes to go to the stadium at midnight, grab his crotch, and mutter mindless cheers????
