Why would Texas switch out Texas State to play a glorified community college?

So they want to play Week 1 when they might not even have Sorsby, and their backup QB is coming off ACL surgery? Doesn’t seem like the smartest move over there in Lubbock.

CDC needs to ask McGuire Gerry’s question about wanting to play someone who gambled on his own team.

Joey McGuire is insufferable. He knows it’s not going to happen, so he’s going to keep doing this. There are 0 consequences. 

I am sure there  are a lot of other schools Tech could have scheduled other then ACU.  Kind of late in the game to change schedules.

The more I think about it, the more I think we should call their bluff. 
A) They pay Texas State not Texas.

B) The game is at DKR. We’re not giving up a home game for chlamydia aggy. 
 

If we destroy them, this would seriously expose them and could adversely affect their playoff chances.

I’d add another stipulation:

C) Cody Campbell donates $5 million to Texas’s NIL fund.

He’s got an extra $5 million with Sorsby off the books.

Not gonna happen Joey.. so I guess we'll never know, If only there was a time in recent history where these two teams played each other regularly and we had a sample size large enough to tell who dominated who...

Joey is safe running his mouth knowing this game isn't going to happen. If he was really sincere about playing better competition, he'd say "we'll play anybody at any location".... notice that Joey and Cody never say let's play OU, Ohio St, Michigan, Alabama, etc...

Deloss Dodds would never play UofH and CDC isn't going to play Tech!

I say let’s go. If tech wants some they have to buy out TSU too. But they need to know we’re going to run the damn score up as much as we can and we won’t call off the dogs. This is an empty load of BS anyway because TV schedules and networks are already set. If Cody wants to pay for that too come on down and get your whoopin.
