In honor of Victoria Hunter's pinch hit home run on Saturday to keep Texas softball alive, I was thinking where it ranks all-time among cutch Texas moments. 

Let's hear them! 

I will take low hanging fruit of 4th and 5, which is obviously the No. 1 all-time clutch moment in Texas history. 

Chance Wheeless’ walk off home run against Baylor in the 2005 Men’s College World Series Semifinals to send Texas to the National Championship series against Florida comes to mind for me.

A certain field goal against a certain team in a certain stadium as a fond farewell.

Street to Peschel on 4th and 3 to put the Longhorns in position to beat Arkansas in the defacto 1969 National Championship game (Tricky Dick said so, gotta be true).

For an "All Time Clutch" moment it needs to be a play that leads to a national championship, I feel.  This was the best for me prior to 4th and 5.

I wonder if even 5% of the readers here are old enough to remember watching on TV (or attending the game)?

Roll left against Nebraska in the 96 b12 title game. 

Not as big as some others but a fun one. Goal line stand in OT vs Kansas State in 2023, needed to win for the 4 team CFP

With postseason for baseball going on currently, Ivan Melendez 3R HR against Mississippi st in the CWS is a big one to me

Was at Urban Air for a birthday party and they had the game on. All the dads were either watching it right underneath or following on their phones. Once it ended and some of us cheered, one of the moms yelled "Good! Now we can focus on the party, right?!?" Guilty as charged, ma'am lol

This one is my all-time favorite. Of course us older guys remember that game and how difficult it was for Texas to come back and make two scores in the 4th quarter to pull it out in Fayetteville.  That pass had to be perfect. Arkansas's coverage was excellent. James Street had the clutch gene. To this day I'm still astounded that we actually pulled that completion off. And hats off to Darrell Royal for having the guts to make a call like that in the midst of that pressure. I'll never forget it!

No recently bias it’s up there regardless for me it has to be the biggest play of Quinn’s career at Texas, and Sark was on the sidelines calm as could be

I was in the student section when Eddie Phillips hit Cotton Speyer to lead the comeback against UCLA at Memorial stadium in 1970.  One of the best situations of grabbing a win from a dire situation.  

Football and national championship moments.  Early on Duke Carlyle Int against Baylor, Street to Peschel, and Vince fourth and five. Street to Speyer on fourth and 2 against Notre Dame big also.

There was one other play in that game that might been even more important. A little before that Bill Burnett(?) had broken deep and was blowing by Freddy Steinmark when Freddy tackled him for a pass interference penalty instead of a sure TD. I think it was Freddy's last play as a Longhorn as one of his legs was removed as cancerous a week later.

Texas would not have won if Arkansas had scored that TD.  There would have been no ND in the Cotton Bowl to beat for DKR 's 2nd Natty.
