OTF on the road: 2027 commit Karnell James

Manvel, Tx. - OnTexasFootball stopped by Manvel High today for the Mavericks athletic period.

Of course, we wanted to bring the Texas fan base a look at James, plus gather info from the Manvel High staff on the 6-0.5, 175 pounder with a 77 inch wingspan.

We’ll start with some pictures from the workout.

Manvel High head coach Kirk Martin has had many P4 prospects come through Manvel, and also coached Di at Syracuse and others.

To say he's high on James as a versatile DB would be an understatement.

He believes he's natural at safety (eyes and recognition), but they will play him at corner next season too.

Mark Orphey, Duane Akina and Chris Gilbert were all in touch with the Manvel High staff throughout the process.

BTW, the entire Manvel High staff says Jonah Williams is most gifted player they have gone up against.

With that said, Coach Martin labeled Quandre Diggs as the best pure football player they have gone up against over the years at Manvel High.

The Manvel High wide receivers coach is a fan of Texas signee Chris Stewart. They are in the same district as Shadow Creek.

Manvel High WR's coach played at UH, and attended Dayton Beach Mainland High ... where he hooped with Vince Carter.
